Ecole Ste. Marguerite Bourgeoys

A francophone centre linked to a new school (by Gibbs Gage Architects); the parti evolved with the community to respect early Quebec architecture. A curved stone rampart integrates the school with the cultural centre while open portals recall entry fortifications to Quebec City. Vertical windows, steel ‘shutters’ and mansard roofs reinforce a particular sense of place.
