Barry Johns was elected to Council of the Alberta Association of Architects in 2020. In recognition of his 4 ½ year tenure as Director of Practice, he was awarded the Tom Sutherland Leadership Award for advancing the profession and demonstrating extraordinary service to the community. This prestigious award follows the Leslie N. Boney Spirit of Fellowship Award given to Barry Johns (Hon)FAIA in 2018 by the American Institute of Architects. Barry is the first international recipient of this honour, given by the College of Fellows to signify extraordinary leadership and service to the profession.
