With over 13,000 objects produced by an impressive array of international artists, the Art Collection at the University of Lethbridge is recognised as the largest privately catalogued collection in North America. University and collections growth results in the need for improved storage, curatorial and exhibition space, public access to collections, and further development of the Museum Studies program. A study for site selection and a conceptual framework resulted in a facility proposal that defers quietly to the art it will house, paying homage to climate, the coulees and University Hall, Arthur Erickson’s seminal work.
